Introduction

The Danish Rheuma Biobank (DRB) holds biological material such as blood and tissue samples from thousands of Danish patients with inflammatory arthritis. The aim is to have personalised medical treatment early on in the disease pathway.

DRB was established by the Danish Rheumatism Association and leading rheumatologists in 2015. Analyses of biological material from the new biobank will be linked to the major DANBIO database. The researchers hope that in the near future it will be possible to identify genes or other biomarkers that can predict the medicine that is the best for the individual.
